We have a surprise for HISTORY LONGSHOT competitors. We are offering you an additional dynamic competition dedicated to the remarkable and historic figure that was Simo Häyhä. It is also a tribute to our friends from Finland, represented by our special sponsor LAPUA. The competition will be supported by our judging team and METS.

ADDITIONAL COMPETITION TRIBUTE TO SIMO HÄYHÄ
METS – Reactive Targets
Target: SCORPION HEAVY – Gong target (750×440)
Distance: 300, 400 and 500 metres
Position: freestyle
Shooting time limit: 8 minutes
Number of shots: 10
- Weapons may only be supported at one point and at the front. The weapon support is provided by the Organiser.
- After the START command, the competitor loads the weapon and shoots at the first target at a distance of 300 metres. In the event of a hit, the Judge-Observer must confirm the hit with the command HIT! After the Judge has confirmed the hit, the competitor may shoot at the next target at a distance of 400 metres. After the Judge has confirmed the hit at 400 metres, the competitor may start shooting at the next target at a distance of 500 metres.
- ATTENTION: After the hit has been confirmed, the competitor informs the Judge of the change of distance and of the next target to be shot! The competitor chooses the shooting distances that will give him the maximum number of points.
- Scoring:
Hitting the target at 300 m – 1 point
Hitting the target at 400 metres – 3 points
Hitting the target at 500 metres –7 points (TSH) - The classification is determined by the number of points scored by the competitor during the 10-shoot series.
- In the event of a score draw, the number of scoring hits at 500 m, followed by 400 m and then 300 m will be decisive.
- If the score is still tied, the Organiser may call for an extra round. Competitors take turns shooting at successive targets until one of the competitors fails to score a hit in a line.
The registration of competitors for the additional competition will be carried out by the Competition Office of the 16th LONGSHOT 2024 on 26 April and 27 April 2024.
