MODERN LONGSHOT competition includes shooting with modern weapons

Purpose of the competition

The purpose of the competition is to promote long-distance rifle shooting, to share experience, and to integrate the military and sport shooting communities. The competition aims at, through mutual rivalry, increasing officers’ and soldiers’ competence as well as promoting long-distance shooting among civilians. During the competition, the best shooting team and the best shooter will be selected.

Competition organiser

The event is organised by SKSP DELTA in cooperation with Klub Strzelecko – Kolekcjonerski „ARES”, Dowództwo Generalne Rodzajów Sił Zbrojnych, and OSPWL Wędrzyn.

Competition date and location

24-26 April 2026, Wędrzyn near Gorzów Wielkopolski. Shooting range in OSPWL Wędrzyn.

Competition
  • Weapon: centrefire rifle, cal. from 222 to 0,50, 22 LR RIMFIRE
  • Divisions: STANDARD, SEMI-AUTO, MAGNUM, SUPERMAGNUM, OPEN, PRODUCTION RIFLE, RIMFIRE (see „Divisions”).
  • Ammunition: It is absolutely forbidden to use tracers, armour-piercing and incendiary bullets, and any other bullets which are forbidden in sport shooting.
  • There will be no sighter shots!

Competition for SUPERMAGNUM division:

Shooting Range: Tactical Range Trzemeszno
The SUPERMAGNUM division competition consists of four shooting stages at the following distances: 1000 m, 1200 m, 1500 m, 1800 m*

    • Shooting is conducted on two STAGES.
    • STAGE 1 covers distances of 1000 m and 1200 m, and STAGE 2 covers distances of 1500 m and 1800 m.
    • Each STAGE is equipped with two firing positions for two randomly selected competitors.
    • Each STAGE is supervised by two RANGE OFFICERS – SPOTTERS (RO-S).
    • Competitors shoot alternately, in coordination with the RO-S.
    • The shooting order is determined by a draw, with the provision that the competitor who shoots first on STAGE 1 will shoot second on STAGE 2.
    • Competitors who complete shooting on STAGE 1 proceed to STAGE 2..
    • In the event of a misfire, a competitor may replace the defective cartridge after reporting the issue and obtaining approval from the RO-S.

STAGE 1 (D1-1000 m, D2-1200 m)
STAGE 2 (D3-1500 m, D4-1800 m)

D1 Target – steel plate (gong), 500 x 500 mm
D2 Target – steel plate (gong), 600 x 600 mm
D3 Target – steel plate (gong), 750 x 750 mm
D4 Target – steel plate (gong), 900 x 900 mm

Position: prone
Number of scored shots: 5 per distance (total 20 shots)
Preparation time: 5 minutes**
Shooting time per shot: 60 seconds

Scoring:
1000 m:  1 HIT – 5 pts,  2 HIT – 4 pts,  3 HIT – 3 pts,  4 HIT – 2 pts,  5 HIT – 1 pts
1200 m:  1 HIT – 6 pts,  2 HIT – 5 pts,  3 HIT – 4 pts,  4 HIT – 3 pts,  5 HIT – 2 pts
1500 m:  1 HIT – 7 pts,  2 HIT – 6 pts,  3 HIT – 5 pts,  4 HIT – 4 pts,  5 HIT – 3 pts
1800 m:  1 HIT – 10 pts,  2 HIT – 8 pts,  3 HIT – 6 pts,  4 HIT – 4 pts,  5 HIT – 2 pts

* The precise distance to the target may vary by ±5 metres due to terrain conditions. This will be verified and communicated to competitors before the shooting begins.
** For organisational or unforeseen reasons, the preparation time may be adjusted. The supervising RO will make the final decision.

Shooting procedure
Attention! Preparation time 3 minutes does not refer to the SUPERMAGNUM division.
 
  • After the “ATTENTION! PREPARATION TIME – 3 minutes!” command, the competitors take their positions and prepare for shooting.
  • It is forbidden for the competitors:
    a. to load their weapons with ammunition,
    b. to attach ammunition magazines to their weapons,
    c. the loading of the weapons and the insertion of the cartridge into the cartridge chamber takes place after the START command.
  • After the “To the rated string, time 8 minutes START!” command, the competitors shoot following the procedure appropriate for the first, the second and the third string.
  • After the “STOP – Unload!” command, they unload their weapons and allow the referee to check the rifle.
  • Each shot before the “START” command or after the “STOP” command will result in disqualification (DQ!).
  1. The competitor shoots at one target, following the procedure appropriate for the first, the second, and the third string, using the same weapon that was previously declared.
  2. The organiser allows a situation in which two or more competitors are using the same rifle. However, in such a case, only the first shooter’s score will count in the general classification. The scores of other shooters will be included in the PK group (no-ranking).   Exception – the SUPERMAGNUM division.
  3. The rifle may be leaned (not attached/screwed) on any object brought by the competitor. It is permitted to use e.g. backpacks or containers as support. The whole additional equipment (without the rifle and ammunition) used by the competitor may not weigh more than 8 kg. The equipment is subject to the referee’s control.
    a. It is permitted to use any type of front support in the form of bipods.
    b. It is permitted to use rear support being part of original equipment as well as additional support (e.g. monopod etc.) used by the competitor in order to enhance the stability of the rifle.
    c.  The front and rear base of the rifle may be connected only by means of the stock.
  4. On the firing position, the competitor may only have the required amount of ammunition for a particular shooting. Bringing any additional ammunition to the firing position will result in disqualification (DQ!).
  5. Malfunction of the rifle or ammunition is the competitor’s concern.
    a. In the event of a cartridge misfire, the competitor may replace the faulty cartridge after informing the referee of the malfunction by a show of hands and with the referee’s permission.
    b. The competitor’s extra ammunition must be kept outside the shooting position in a locked case, rucksack, etc.
    c. The competitor is not entitled to any additional shooting time for the purpose of correcting a weapon or ammunition malfunction.
  6. The weapon is brought onto the firing position in a cover, a case or a transport box. If the competitor wishes to use it as support or stabilisation for the rifle, it will be subject to weighing together with the rest of the equipment.
  7. Leaving the firing position with the weapon is allowed only after unloading the rifle, checking it by the referee, and putting it into a cover, a case, or a transport box. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in disqualification (DQ!).
  8. The course of the rated shooting may be recorded using audio/video equipment. The material is available only to the referees. It will not be published or distributed. It cannot be used for purposes other than the ones connected with organizing the LONGSHOT 2026 Shooting Competition.
  9. Any check-ups and repairs of the weapons can be performed only in the designated SAFETY AREA.
  10. It is forbidden to bring live, blank, or dummy ammunition to the safety area. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in disqualification (DQ!).
  11. Moving around the shooting range with a rifle is allowed only when it is stored in a cover, a case, or a transport box.
  12. In disputed cases, the final decision belongs to the main referee.
Participation

The competition is open to private individuals as well as soldiers and civil servants who:

  • possess appropriate licenses concerning the ownership of firearms,
  • have correctly registered themselves,
  • have paid an admission fee (it does not refer to the representatives and representations of the Armed Forces General Command and the invited guests)
The organiser reserves the right to refuse any competitor’s registration without giving a reason.
 
Classification
  • Individual
  • Team: Teams consisting of two competitors (the sum of points gained by the team in one division).
  • INTERNATIONAL Classification Team: 
    INTERNATIONAL LONGSHOT CUP
    For the international classification, the four best final results obtained by the competitors (representatives of the registered countries see “Other Matters”) in the following divisions are counted: STANDARD, MAGNUM, OPEN, PRODUCTION RIFLE – in the absence of the registered representative from among the above-mentioned divisions, the best result of the country’s representative in the SEMI-AUTO division may be used.

  • Places 1-3 cups (OTHER)
  • Places 1-6 diplomas
  • 1 CUP and medal: INTERNATIONAL LONGSHOT TEAM
  • 2-3 medal: INTERNATIONAL LONGSHOT TEAM 
Registration deadline

Registration takes place only online through www.longshot.pl until the number of places available is exhausted. The number of participants is limited!

Participants arrive at their own expense.
Admission fee 300, 600, 800 m – PLN 500 (120 EUR) per competitor
Admission fee SUPERMAGNUM – PLN 500 (120 EUR) per competitor
Admission fee RIMFIRE – PLN 300 (75 EUR) per competitor
Extra fee for the additional 1000+ meters competition – PLN 200 (55 EUR)
Extra fee for the additional MAGNUM SUPER+ competition – PLN 200 (55 EUR)
Fee for the team – PLN 200 (55 EUR)

Other matters
  1. In case of withdrawal after registering and paying the admission fee, the competitor is not entitled to reimbursement.
  2. Only the registered competitors who have paid the admission fee may participate in the training session on 24 April 2026.
  3. Only the competitor who has paid an extra fee may take part in the additional competition at a distance of 1000+ meters and TM SUPER+ (1100 meters).
  4. Each division is opened only after a minimum of 10 competitors have registered.
  5. A National Team representative can be a duly registered competitor who is a citizen and a resident of the declared country and agrees to represent. If the competitor does not agree to his/her result being taken into account in the national classification, he/she is obliged to notify the organiser of this fact by e-mail by 24 April 2026.
  6. For the international classification, the four best final results obtained by four country representatives in the MAGNUM, STANDARD, OPEN, PRODUCTION RIFLE divisions are counted.
  7. In the absence of the declared representative from among the above-mentioned divisions, the best result of the country’s representative from the SEMI-AUTO division may be used. 
  8. A competitor’s result in the international classification can only relate to one division.
  9. If the competitor takes part in more than one division, only one higher result achieved by the competitor will be taken into account in the international classification.   
  10. In the case of military teams, each unit is entitled to field one team in every division.
  11. In case of the same number of points obtained by the competitors after the last shooting, the organiser conducts a play-off.
  12. Non-factory fitted multifunctional muzzle devices
  13. If more than the required number of hits is found and it is not possible to determine which belong to the competitor, the best hits above the required ones are deducted. The final decision is made by the main referee.
  14. The competitor has the right to lodge an objection against the obtained result within one hour of the final announcement (publication) of results. Objections lodged after this period will not be considered. If any other problems appear, an objection of the competitor will be taken into consideration when presenting it in writing and after payment of the arbitration fee in the amount of PLN 450 or EUR 100 to the main referee of the competition.
Divisions:
STANDARD
  • Centrefire rifle, cal: 222, 223, 5,45×39, 5,56×45(NATO), 308WIN, 7,62x53R (7,62x54R), 30-06.
  • The muzzle bullet energy may not exceed 4500J.
  • The weight of the weapon together with the sight and additional accessories (bipod, monopod etc.) must not exceed 12 kg.
  • The whole equipment (shooting system) used by the STANDARD division shooters has to be tactical. A bipod and a monopod attached to the weapon must be capable of being folded for transport purposes.
  • The front and rear bases of the rifle must have no other connection than the rifle stock.

  • A bullet hole is scored with a calibre of 8 mm.

SEMI-AUTO
  • Semi-automatic centrefire rifle, cal. from 222 to 338.
  • The weight of the weapon with the sight, attached empty magazine and additional accessories (bipod, monopod, etc.) must not exceed 12 kg.
  • Loading and reloading of the weapon must take place from the magazine connected to the weapon.
  • The weapon loading and reloading system must be operational and functioning during the rated shooting.
  • The whole equipment (shooting system) used by the SEMI-AUTO division shooters has to be tactical. A bipod and a monopod attached to the weapon must be capable of being folded for transport purposes.
  • The front and rear bases of the rifle must have no other connection than the rifle stock.

  • A bullet hole is scored with a calibre of 9 mm.

MAGNUM
  • Centrefire rifle, cal: 300 Winchester Magnum, 300 Winchester Short Magnum, 300 Norma Magnum, 7PRC, 7mm Winchester Short Magnum, 7mm Remington Short Action Ultra Magnum, 7mm Remington Magnum, 7mm Remington Ultra Magnum or similar (wildcate), 33XC, 338 Lapua Magnum, 338 Winchester Magnum, 338 Norma Magnum.
  • The muzzle bullet energy may not exceed 9000J.
  • The weight of the weapon together with the sight and additional accessories (bipod, monopod etc.) must not exceed 14 kg.
  • The whole equipment (shooting system) used by the MAGNUM division shooters has to be tactical. A bipod and a monopod attached to the weapon must be capable of being folded for transport purposes.
  • The front and rear bases of the rifle must have no other connection than the rifle stock.

  • A bullet hole is scored with a calibre of 9 mm.

SUPERMAGNUM
  • Centrefire rifle, cal. up to 12.7 (0,5 inch).
  • Muzzle bullet energy of over  9000J.
  • The whole equipment (shooting system) used by the SUPERMAGNUM division shooters has to be tactical. A bipod and a monopod attached to the weapon must be capable of being folded for transport purposes.
  • The front and rear bases of the rifle must have no other connection than the rifle stock.

  • A bullet hole is scored with a calibre of 12,7 mm.
OPEN
  • Centrefire rifle, cal. up to 8 mm.
  • The muzzle bullet energy may not exceed 9000J.
  • The weight of the weapon together with the sight and additional accessories (bipod, monopod etc.) must not exceed 14 kg.
  • The front and rear bases of the rifle must have no other connection than the rifle stock.

  • A bullet hole is scored with a calibre of 8 mm.
PRODUCTION RIFLE
  • Factory and factory-configured centrefire rifle in the 308 WIN calibre, produced in a minimum quantity of 500 pcs. 
  • The rifle equipped with internal or attachable magazine. 
  • Ammunition used by the competitor with a bullet not exceeding a weight of 190 gr (12.31 g) may be subject to a bullet check and weighing procedure.
  • The weight of the weapon together with the sight and additional accessories (bipod, monopod etc.) must not exceed 10 kg.
  • The whole equipment (shooting system) used by the PRODUCTION RIFLE division shooters has to be tactical. A bipod and a monopod attached to the weapon must be capable of being folded for transport purposes.
  • The front and rear bases of the rifle must have no other connection than the rifle stock.

  • The organiser recommends the use of factory-made ammunition.
  • A bullet hole is scored with a calibre of 7,62 mm.
  • EXCLUSIONS: single loading weapons – not allowed; weapons with replaced essential weapon parts (not factory-made) – not allowed; no use of spotting scopes.
RIMFIRE (rimfire rifle)
  • Rimfire rifle chambered in .22 calibre, fed exclusively with .22 LR ammunition (.22 WRF, .22 WMR, .17 HMR, .17 WSM and similar cartridges are not permitted); bolt-action or semi-automatic rifles are allowed.
  • Ammunition: lead bullets only, in accordance with ISSF regulations.
  • Distances: 100 m, 200 m, 300 m.
  • Targets: H100, H200, H300.
  • Shooting position: prone, using one or two separate, non-connected supports; a mandatory front bipod and a rear support in the form of a bag, cushion, or monopod.
  • During the course of fire, the rifle must not touch the firing point surface, except for the contact points of the bipod and monopod.
  • The use of non-factory multifunction muzzle devices is permitted (e.g. muzzle brake, compensator, tuner, sound moderator).
  • The total weight of the rifle, including optic and additional equipment (bipod, monopod, spirit level, etc.), must not exceed 10 kg.
  • Sights: unrestricted.
  • The use of spotting scopes is permitted.
  • In the 22 LR RIMFIRE division, shot-hole calibration is performed using a 5.6 mm gauge.

In cases of disputes, decisions are made by the referee performing the technical inspection of the weapon.

According to Article 32 of the Personal Data Protection Act dated 29 August 1997 (Journal of Laws of 2002, No. 101, item 926, as amended), from the moment of sending registration the participant agrees to process his/her personal data for organisational and promotional purposes of the LONGSHOT 2026 Shooting Competition.
