Shooting procedure
  • After the “ATTENTION! PREPARATION TIME – 3 minutes!” command, the competitors take their positions and prepare for shooting.
  • It is forbidden for the competitors:
    a. to load their weapons with ammunition,
    b. to attach ammunition magazines to their weapons,
    c. the loading of the weapons and the insertion of the cartridge into the cartridge chamber takes place after the START command.
  • After the “To the rated string, time 8 minutes START!” command, the competitors shoot following the procedure appropriate for the first, the second and the third string.
  • After the “STOP – Unload!” command, they unload their weapons and allow the referee to check the rifle.
  • Each shot before the “START” command or after the “STOP” command will result in disqualification (DQ!).
  1. The competitor shoots at one target only, following the procedure appropriate for the first, the second or the third round, using always the same weapon that was previously declared. The start of the competitor in additional equipment class requires the re-registration and possession of an additional weapon corresponding to the technical requirements of the given class.
  2. The organizer allows a situation in which two or more competitors are using the same rifle. However, in this case only the score of the first shooter will count towards the overall ranking. The scores of the other shooters will be placed in the PK group (non-competition).
  3. The rifle may be supported by (not attached to) any object brought on the range by the competitor. It is permitted to use e.g. backpacks or containers as support. The whole additional equipment (without the rifle and ammunition) must weigh less than 8 kg. The equipment is subject to the referee’s control.
  4. In the case of the historical rifle division, on the firing position, the competitor may have only the number of rounds specified for one string. Bringing any additional ammunition to the firing position will result in disqualification (DQ!).
  5. Malfunction of the rifle or ammunition is the competitor’s concern.
  6. The weapon is brought onto the firing position in a weapon bag or case. If the competitor wishes to use it as support for the rifle, it will be subject to weighing together with the rest of the equipment.
  7. Leaving the firing position with the weapon is allowed only after unloading the rifle, subjecting it to the referee’s checking procedure, and inserting it in the weapon bag or case. Not adhering to this rule will result in disqualification (DQ!).
  8. The course of the competitive shooting may be recorded using audio/video equipment. The material will be available only to the organizers and referees. It will not be published or distributed. It cannot be used for purposes other than the ones connected with organizing LONGSHOT 2024 Shooting Competition.
  9. Any check-ups and repairs can be performed only in the designated safety area.
  10. It is forbidden to bring live, blank, or dummy ammunition to the safety area. Not adhering to this rule will result in disqualification (DQ!).
  11. Moving around the shooting range with a rifle is allowed only when it is stored in a weapon bag or case.
  12. In debatable cases, the final decision belongs to the main referee.
